OUR VINEYARD

About Us

Nestled upon beautiful slopes near the village of Bremhill, Calne overlooking Maud Heath's historic causeway in Wiltshire. Our name derives from a local monument dedicated to  "Maud Heath".

Maud Heath was a widow, who provided a gift in 1474 to a trust which oversaw the construction of a causeway, allowing people dry passage from Wick Hill to Chippenham.

The statue of Maud Heath proudly overlooks the vineyard at Wick Hill, and all of the Marden Valley, to remind us of her altruism in perpetuity, and an image of her is adorned on all of our wine labels.

Hand planting began in 2006 and our vineyard now spans over 6 acres of a naturally occurring ridge; with vines that comprise of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Bacchus and Rondo grapes.

The early vintage ‘Bramble Hill’ wine was derived from the original name for the local Bremhill village, renowned for its abundant supply of bramble bushes. Further names have continued to celebrate the heritage of our local area.
