July has arrived in full force here at Maud Heath Vineyard, and the vines are bursting with energy as we enter one of the busiest and most important stages of the growing season, preparing for harvest.

We’re thrilled to share that this year we’ve made the decision to harvest our Chardonnay, a beautifully expressive grape that truly shines when grown on our Wiltshire slopes. To give the fruit the very best chance of ripening perfectly, the team has been working hard in the vineyard:

Hand cutting leaves around the grape bunches to let in the sunshine and promote even ripening.

Dropping secondary bunches so that the vines focus all their energy on producing fewer, higher quality grapes.

It’s detailed, hands on work but it’s these small decisions that make all the difference when it comes to producing beautifully balanced, characterful wine.

Wine News and Big Wins!

We're incredibly proud to share that two of our wines (Tytherton Red and Pinot Noir Sparkling) are now featured at Michael Caines’ Michelin starred restaurant in Lympstone. It’s a huge moment for us as a small, independent vineyard, and a wonderful recognition of the quality we're striving to achieve.

Maud Heath at Europe’s Biggest Bike Meet

On Saturday 26th July, we took part in the legendary Calne Bike Meet, Europe’s biggest bike festival and what a day it was! We had such a great response to our wines, sold by the glass and bottle, plus our refreshing Maud Heath Elderflower Spritz which proved a massive hit in the summer heat. A huge thank you to everyone who came to see us we’ll definitely be back!
