Welcome back to the Maud Heath blog!
It’s been a busy time here on the vineyard as summer kicks in and the vines continue to surge with growth. There's a real sense of momentum this month, with new beginnings, successful tastings, some shiny new kit, and exciting news to share.
First off, we’re delighted to introduce Jessie, our new Wine Manager. Jessie joined the team in June!
We also launched our Vineyard Tours and Tastings this month and they’ve been a big hit! From guided walks through the vines to relaxed tastings overlooking the valley, it’s been a pleasure to welcome guests and share the story behind the wines. Thank you to everyone who’s come along so far we’re excited for more to come.
Out in the vineyard, we’ve invested in two new pieces of equipment to support the growing season: a leaf trimmer and a leaf sucker. The leaf trimmer, which we’ve already used across our three established vineyards, features rotating blades that run along the sides and top of the machine. It neatly trims the vines to stop them from growing too tall or sprawling outwards. This encourages the plant to focus its energy on fruit production rather than excessive stem growth, which is key to producing high-quality grapes later in the season.
And in big news from the cellar to the table, our wine is now being served at the Michelin starred Lympstone Manor, the award winning restaurant and hotel run by acclaimed chef Michael Caines. We’re incredibly proud to see Maud Heath wines featured at such a prestigious venue—it's a wonderful recognition of the quality and character of our wine.
Looking ahead, we’ve got more events and tastings planned throughout the summer, so if you haven’t visited yet or want to come back for more keep an eye on our website and socials for all the latest updates.
Here’s to a fruitful summer!
The Maud Heath Team
